Inner Child Wounds and How to Heal

Inside each of us lives a younger self , the child we once were. That child carries not only our earliest joys and curiosities, but also our deepest pains. When those wounds remain unhealed, they silently influence the way we think, feel, and relate to others.
What Are Inner Child Wounds?
Inner child wounds are emotional imprints from our formative years. They arise when a child’s core needs love, safety, acceptance, or belonging are unmet. This can happen through neglect, criticism, abandonment, or even subtle moments of feeling unseen or unheard.
As adults, these wounds often show up as:
- Fear of rejection or abandonment
- Difficulty trusting or forming healthy relationships
- Perfectionism and self-criticism
- People-pleasing at the cost of personal truth
- Feeling “not enough” no matter what we do
